Who We Are

African Centre for Global Entrepreneurial Leadership (ACGEL) is a registered non-governmental entity whose operation is Africa centered. We are operational, meaning we plan and carry out boots on the ground projects to accomplish our objectives. This requires a great deal of careful planning, communication and local involvement for each project.

Our goal as an organization is to accomplish the following

To stimulate purposeful perspective leadership in Africa.

We hope to further our progress to reaching these goals through the project outlined in this proposal.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

From the Nigerian bureau of Statistics (NBS) which states that as at 2010, Nigeria’s unemployment rate was 5.9 percent which rose steadily to 8.19 percent in 2015. By 2017 3^rd quarter, the unemployment rate had more than doubled, peaking at 18.80 percent. Moreover, as at 2018 3^rd quarter unemployment rate in Nigeria has increased to 23.13 percent.

In real terms, 20.9 million Nigerians are currently unemployed while 18.2 million are underemployed. This brings their total of 39.1 million people out of active labor force of 115.5 million. Presently the unemployment rate amongst the massive growing population is fueling kidnapping, banditry, insurgency and armed robbery.

In other African countries with unemployment rate of 46.1 percent in Congo,34.0 percent in Namibia and 27.6 percent in South Africa etc. This has proven to be a major problem and the time to act is now.

OUR SYSTEMS

(1). LEADERSHIP ENTREPRENEURIAL GAME SHOW (LEGS)

This is a game show as the name implies which is almost like that of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” but instead of giving out money we are giving out tools of work. This implies that by the time an individual steps out the hot seat he/she is already set up with tools for work. Meaning the individual leaves established on his/her field of work. (2). AFRICA LEADERSHIP ENTREPRENEURIAL REALITY TV SHOW (ALERTS)

Here is a TV show showcasing how business ideas can be groomed and nurtured from scratch to its establishment. Sixty (60) contestants are housed in a mansion called the “Job Creation Mansion” where they will undergo various training regarding innovations and test of wits in respect to business and self-development. From this sixty (60), six (6) winners or business are chosen and given a starting price of ten million (10,000,000) naira. Showing this life gives room for external investors to invest in any of the showcased businesses of their liking and proving to the general public that no idea is a waste, in which with the right environment (which the show is providing) it can blossom into a multinational company.

(3). JOB EXPLOSION TRUST FUND (JETF)

This is a pool of funds, where various avenues are created for companies, organization, Development Partners and individuals to donate to for investing in a business that needs financial support. Statement of account will be put on our site quarterly for the general public to view at their convenience.

(5). LEADERSHIP ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT STUDIES (LEDS)

We are all aware that our schools have subjects called “trade subjects” e.g. Marketing, GSM repairs and Maintenance etc. This subjects that are pragmatic based are yet taught and graded in theory, thereby defeating their purpose. That’s why with this our system LEDS which is towards being approved be NERDC focused on the innovative aspect of our children from the nursery up to the secondary. Room is given for LEDS approved artisans to give a step by step walkthrough on the students chosen field of interest thereby developing and nurturing their self-reliance skills making them viable independent.

(6). JOB EXPLOSION SUMMIT (NJES)

This is a summit where we will we unveiling all these above systems in full and also showcasing avenues the general public and various bodies can come in for partnership and sponsorship for the creation of massive Jobs. This program will be the first thing to be hold in every country in Africa that we move in.

This are investors that pick interest in this cause, the grow to become our BOARD OF FELLOW

In this academy we have people who are yet to be employed. They are also volunteers but yet to be gainfully employed.
